Olympic 100m champion sustained injury when finishing third behind Melissa Jefferson-Wooden in world 100m final on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Julien Alfred, the Olympic 100m champion, has pulled out of the 200m at the World Championships in Tokyo due to a grade one hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

The Saint Lucia athletics federation said: \u201cOn the advice of medical professionals and in consultation with her management team, our Olympic champion and 100m World Athletics Championships bronze medallist, Julien Alfred has been withdrawn from the women\u2019s 200m at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Julien sustained a grade 1 hamstring strain. The decision to withdraw prioritises her health and long-term career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alfred finished third in the world 100m final on the second day of these championships in a race won decisively by Melissa Jefferson-Wooden of the United States in 10.61.<\/p>
